WENDY  WANG

I was born in China before I moved to California at the age of 16. I am currently based in LA. 

 

I am currently a Footwear Designer at W's Sports & Court Classics team at SKECHERS.

 

In my life, I’ve lived in Shenzhen, Beijing, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn. These cities have their own distinct culture, flavor, and personality. I love observing how urbanity of different cities encounter unique problems and the solutions they come up with. 

 

I believe that at minimum, design is a tool that helps people with specific tasks. At best, design can inspire people and lead them into the future. To do this, I strive to grow as a designer, and in particular, focus on being a concise thinker and a daydream executor. Additionally, in my design process, I want to consider the individual’s personal experiences and their cultural background.

 

When I am not designing, you can find me reading books, playing sports, and wandering in city.
